If you ask Hadley Haas where she is from, she couldn’t be more proud to tell you: Pittsburgh. Her community has given her strength in some of her family’s toughest times and rallied with her to support others with open arms when they needed the same support. Her life has become, through intention and the genuine desire to serve, about helping others and paving the way for the next generation. As her family has faced challenge after challenge, Hadley’s story is one of resilience and seeing ways to help others in even her toughest moments.
Hadley has dedicated herself to volunteer and advocacy work for years, contributing to groups such as the Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Friends of the Hearing Center at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, and the Depaul School. As a mother of two kids in school, she got into politics after the tragedy of Sandy Hook. She is determined to protect our kids, vote for what is right, and give back to her community.
Protecting Clean Air and Water
Growing up in industrial Pittsburgh, Hadley knows how important it is to protect our air and water from pollution. She will balance the need for good-paying jobs and protections that ensure our community is safe.
Keeping Children Safe
Haas believes that no one should live in a country where the leading cause of death of our young people today is gun violence. In the legislature, Hadley will stand up for common sense gun laws that protect our kids. She will also invest in community-based programs and gun safety legislation that gets to the roots of crime and violence.
Investing in Our Communities
Hadley understands that good public schools are the key to socioeconomic mobility and opportunity. If we invest in our young people, we will curb the cycle of poverty and violence, and ensure everyone has an opportunity to thrive.
Haas believes that our kids should be able to raise their families in the same communities where they grew up. She will work to bring good-paying jobs to Pittsburgh and invest in labor so workers are protected and paid what they are worth.
